Our Story

Annie Sousa writing

Unmask Your Mind was born from a deep-seated passion for mental health advocacy and a personal journey of  overcoming stigma. Our founder, Annie Sousa, started Unmask Your Mind after witnessing firsthand the harmful effects of misinformation and societal judgment on mental well-being. Her own experiences, coupled with a background in mental health education, fueled the desire to create a platform that would be a beacon of hope and knowledge for others. What began as a small initiative to educate friends and family quickly grew into a comprehensive online platform dedicated to mental health awareness and education. We recognized the urgent need for a space where people could access reliable information, share their stories, and find community support without fear of stigma. Today, Unmask Your Mind is a thriving community dedicated to making a real difference
in the lives of those we serve.
